Wondering what it’s like to build your first home? The cold hard costs, considerations and process leading to your first fish & chip dinner on the floor? First-time builder-come-Orange Homes Sales Consultant, Ginny, is laying it all bare, documenting her personal building journey.
Next up for me was to book in my kitchen and colour consultations.
First up, I booked in to see Paula from Mackenzie & Willis for my colour consult – I had only ever heard great things about Paula, and I am pleased to say that I was beyond ecstatic with the options and service she provided. From the get-go I felt that Paula understood exactly what I had in mind and she pulled all the right colours and materials that aligned perfectly to my imagination. I barely had any photos to show her what I was thinking, so the fact that she could put it together from what I wanted my home to ‘feel’ like was super reassuring. Following my appointment with Paula I whipped off to Sockburn Joinery to go through my kitchen design. This was a little nerve wracking as there are many elements to think of, and it is important to get the kitchen right as it is the heart of a home. Thankfully the guys at Sockburn are just as experienced, and they already had the colours and benchtop that Paula had selected for me, so it was a matter of piecing it all together and making sure we were working within the provisional sum I had allocated to my kitchen.
For me a home needs to be warm and welcoming, and I feel confident that we achieved this goal with the help and guidance from our two partners: Mackenzie & Willis and Sockburn Joinery.
